Worship at Mt. Rose

Let us come into His presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to Him with songs of praise!
(Psalm 95:2)

Let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.
(Hebrews 12:28, 29)

The most important thing we do as Christians is worship. And the most important thing about worship is the glory of God. At Mt. Rose we seek to glorify God by worshiping Him with both reverence and joy. Reverence, because God is great and holy. And joy, because God is our loving Father and His Son is our merciful Savior.

Our worship service includes the singing of hymns and psalms, prayer, and the reading and preaching of Scripture. Below is the order of service for a typical Sunday morning worship.

The morning worship begins at 10:00 a.m. and ends around 11:15. We sing our hymns to the accompaniment of a piano. Pastor Johnson’s sermons are expository with application, focusing on the person and work of Christ. He usually preaches a sermon series through a book of the Bible. From time to time he’ll preach a topical series on some aspect of doctrine or Christian living.

Children of all ages are welcome to stay with their parents in the worship service. We do not have a children’s church but we do offer nursery care for younger children.

The atmosphere is reverential but not stuffy. We don’t have a dress code; most people dress nicely but are not necessarily “dressed up.”
