The most important thing about a Christian is not merely that his sins are forgiven or that he will go to heaven when he dies, wonderful as those truths are. The greatest thing is that, by the grace of God, he has become a worshiper of the true God. And that worship is not just something we do with our lips on Sunday morning; God also calls us to present our whole lives as a living sacrifice, offering ourselves to him in thankful devotion.
True saving faith is not found in our own goodness, but in Jesus Christ alone. Romans 10 reminds us that salvation comes by believing in the heart, confessing with the mouth, and calling on the name of the Lord who saves all who trust in Him.
