God created marriage as a blessed, lifelong union between one man and one woman, the essential building block of society. The Sabbath is a gracious gift from God, meant not as a burden but as a weekly delight that points us back to Christ’s re-creation in the resurrection and forward to the eternal rest he promises. Keeping the Lord’s Day holy by resting from ordinary labor and gathering for worship both nourishes our souls and testifies to the world that our true hope and life are in Jesus.
The name of God is not a mere label but the living symbol of His character. To speak it thoughtlessly, use it as a slogan, or attach it to false promises is to reduce the holy to the hollow and thus “take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
